Jean-Philippe Melly has been passionate about car mechanics since the age of 15, and has been working in the field for almost 40 years now.

After completing an apprenticeship with a local garage, he then worked there for 24 years as a mechanic.

On the strength of this long experience, he decided to go his own way and opened his own garage, MC Autos, in Grenchen in 2008, where he works with the help of an employee and an apprentice.

Jean-Philippe Melly enjoys his job because, as the automotive field is constantly evolving,  he finds it rewarding to have to solve novel problems and consider innovative solutions.

In addition to standard vehicle maintenance and repair services, he also offers automotive expertises and sells used cars as well as various automotive accessories.

Maintenance & expertise

Keep your vehicle in top condition

At MC Autos, we offer a full maintenance service as well as appraisal services.

Regular maintenance

We carry out all the usual checks to keep your car in top condition.

This service includes fault finding various, checking oil levels, making sure brake pads, parking lights or air conditioning are working properly (with gas refill).

In short, we put your vehicle through its paces and make it like new again!

At our garage, we also carry out pollution tests petrol or diesel. Despite the January 2013 law, some vehicles are still affected by these tests.

In addition to cars, we also carry out trailer maintenance (lights and brakes).

Periodic inspection of automotive service

Depending on the appointment date set with the automotive service department, we schedule a vcomplete check-up of your vehicle.

In doing so, we can estimate the time needed to carry out any repairs that may need to be made to your car before submitting it to the automotive department for inspection.

On the day of the appointment, you take care of nothing and we drive your car to the inspection location.

In the meantime, we provide a replacement vehicle or, if you prefer, we drive you back to your workplace or home.

Vehicle sales and buybacks

We also offer our sappraisal services as part of the sale or buy-back of a vehicle to certify it is in good working order.
