The La Brèche course in Granges currently comprises 18 holes built on an area of 55 ha. The course is bordered to the north by the Rhone dam, to the east by the village of Granges, to the south by the Sion - Grône cantonal road and to the west by the Pouta-Fontana protected area.
The course architects for the first nine holes are Messrs Maurice Bembridge and Michel Zufferey, and for the extension Messrs Alain Dehaye and Jean-Claude Renggli. During both stages of construction, these architects worked in consort with the State Services and environmental associations to build a course that respects the environment (flora and fauna) and the various associations that have claimed the right to use the banks of the Lac de la Brèche and Lac de la Corne (fishermen, friends of the gouille, divers, walkers)
.Each hole of the course conceals a great wealth, either through views of the Alps and surrounding resorts, or through the variety of tree and flower species, or through the many species of fish, land or winged fauna.
Viewpoints
In the line of fairways, it's possible to admire the foothills of Anniviers, Montana, the resorts of Nendaz, Vercorin, Nax and some magnificent Valais peaks such as Haut de Cry, La Dent de Nendaz, Mont Noble, Bella Tola, Crêt-du-Midi, Bietschorn, Torrenthorn and Illhorn.
Flora
All along the course, golfers and walkers along the purpose-built paths will be able to admire countless species of plants and trees such as: poplars, alders, blood dogwoods, clematis, orchids, wild cherries, white-footed willows, birches, viburnums, weeping willows, Scots pines, oaks and so many others. During the construction of these two nine-holes, no fewer than 8,000 trees and bushes of all species recognized by ecology circles were planted to complement the existing forests.
.Fish fauna
Along the Réchy or Dérochia rivers, canals, gouilles, Brèche and Corne lakes it is possible to spot a multitude of fish and amphibians such as: trout, pike, tench, carp, frogs, toads, etc.
Land wildlife
Animals living on and around the golf course are numerous and can be seen depending on the season and time of day: hares, beavers, squirrels, foxes, deer etc.
Winged fauna
In the course area, golfers and attentive walkers will be able to hear and observe a large number of bird species: titmice, finches, woodpeckers, grey herons, warblers, wagtails, swans, ducks, moorhens, etc. and even at dusk bats.

October 21, 2018 | Eric RouxDer Platz st immer gut gepflegt.
