In summer 2006, SWM Metallbautechnik began developing the "transparent ei30" fire protection sliding door. The drive technology for the fire protection system comes from Gilgen Doors. The first fire protection doors tested in accordance with EN 1363-1 and 1634-1 were installed in the WESTside shopping center in 2008; they have proven to be stable and reliable.

Our EI30 and EI60 butt joint glazing offers maximum transparency. The butt joints have a width of 4 mm and are cleanly formed with black silicone. The edges of the glass are ground, polished and finished with a fine bevel. The entire glazing is without any enameling or other restrictions - simply transparent. Thanks to the high glass quality, the glass retains its shape and shows hardly any clouding in the long term. Thanks to the special glass structure, fall protection with a load of 1 kN can be easily accommodated.
