Description
Back in 1925, Ernst Fitze set up his own business. Initially, he repaired electrical appliances and built small fans for the exhaust air from toilets. Later, chimney fans were added to support the lack of natural draught in many fireplaces.
In 1946, his son (also Ernst Fitze), who had also trained as an electrician (electrical engineer), founded his own company in Chur. Initially, the company repaired electric motors and electrical appliances. However, the production of chimney fans, which his father had already manufactured, was soon added to the company as a separate product. The motors for these chimney fans were developed and manufactured in-house in the company's own electromechanical workshop and winding shop. At that time, the company was 100% self-produced.
After his father's death, his brother Max took over the business in St.Gallen.
With the handover to the second (actually third) generation in 1984 to his son Samuel, the existing chimney fans were further developed and supplemented with new flue gas fans in line with market requirements. Today, various models with different outputs are available for different applications and installation options.
In 1996, the sole proprietorship (Samuel Fitze) was transformed into a public limited company (Fitze Chur AG)
In 1998, the first homepage was launched on the Internet.
In 2006, exactly on the company's 60th anniversary, the company moved into new factory premises in Untervaz. This marked the end of a 55-year era on Steinbruchstrasse in the old town of Chur.
Not only was there more space at the new location, everything was also on one level, which made the production process and handling much easier.
2006, At the same time, the company name was changed from Fitze Chur AG to FITZE VENTILATOREN AG.
2017, I (Samuel Fitze) am in the fortunate position of already having my succession plan in place. I have been working closely with Matthias Aebersold from Ventinox GmbH, St. Gallen, for 2 1/2 years and the decision to merge or take over the company was only a logical consequence. The company Ventinox GmbH emerged from the company Kurt Fitze, Kaminventilatoren, St.Gallen. A family business was thus reunited after more than 70 years.
The company was renamed FITZE VENTINOX AG in 2017 and moved its headquarters to Jegenstorf BE.
Today, FITZE VENTINOX AG supplies high-quality flue gas fans and chimney fans that reliably serve many thousands of installations far beyond the country's borders.
January 2025 - After 45 years of work, Samuel Fitze hands over the management and leadership to Matthias and Ralf Aebersold and goes into well-deserved retirement.
1925 - 2025 also means 100 years of company history.
