What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of complaints of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.

Chiropractors use various manual techniques, such as specific joint mobilization ("adjustment") to release blockages or restore reduced mobility in a joint. They apply a targeted, usually painless movement to the affected vertebral joint, which has a positive effect on the joint receptors and the corresponding segment of the nervous system. The manual intervention relaxes the affected muscles, increases the mobility of the joint, and reduces pain.
