Description
SSO Dentist in Küsnacht ZH
Dental hygiene
Prophylaxis by our dental hygienist. Her work is not limited to the often unpleasant but necessary removal of dental calculus, she advises and instructs you on optimal dental care, monitors and controls the health of your teeth and gums. She will give you instructions on oral hygiene and how to prevent periodontal disease and tooth decay. With your consent, you will be called at regular intervals for check-ups (recall) so that any problems can be identified and rectified at an early stage.
Composite fillings
Also known as plastic fillings, these are tooth-colored, durable and relatively inexpensive restorations for small and medium-sized defects.
Ceramic inlays
These are tooth-colored ceramic fillings for the reconstruction of larger defects in the posterior region. They are individually produced by a dental technician based on an impression and inserted in a second session.
Ceramic crowns
A durable and aesthetic option for reconstructing severely damaged teeth. Ceramic crowns are almost indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Veneers
Veneers are wafer-thin yet stable ceramic veneers that are bonded to the front teeth for aesthetic optimization. This restoration is gentle on the tooth substance, as minimal grinding of the enamel is sufficient. Slight tooth misalignments, unsatisfactory tooth colors and tooth gaps can be corrected.
Implants
Titanium screws that are inserted 10 to 14 mm deep into the jaw in the place of a missing tooth. After a healing period of 3 to 9 months, a ceramic tooth can be screwed onto it, which is almost indistinguishable from a natural tooth. Implants are one of the long-lasting dental treatment options with the advantage that the prosthesis does not have to be fixed to the adjacent teeth, but is anchored in the bone like a natural tooth.
Bridges
Fixed restoration of tooth gaps. A proven method when implants cannot be used. Like your own teeth, the bridge remains firmly in the mouth. The teeth adjacent to the gap are ground down like crowns, which then support the replacement tooth as bridge abutments.
Dentures / partial dentures
A cost-effective solution for multiple tooth gaps. The dentures consist of a plastic base to which ceramic teeth are attached and are removable. Partial dentures can be clasped to the remaining natural teeth.
Bleaching / whitening
These terms are used to describe the whitening of natural teeth. We only offer "home bleaching" out of conviction because it is gentle and cost-effective. A gel containing peroxide is worn in the mouth at home in a customized tray. It is applied several times until the desired degree of whitening is achieved. Unnaturally white teeth are thus avoided. You determine the degree of whitening and the result is predictable. It is also possible to whiten individual teeth. You keep the splint, so the treatment can be repeated years later.
Michigan splint
Treatment of tooth wear and head and neck pain (often even back pain) caused by hyperactivity of the chewing muscles (teeth grinding). A Michigan splint (also known as a "bite splint") is a mold made of transparent plastic that is adapted to the dentition and is usually placed on the teeth of the upper jaw. It is worn at night and prevents you from destroying your teeth through the mechanical removal of tooth substance.
Dental jewelry
The gluing of real and fake diamonds (glittering stones) to teeth.
