A boiler service extends the
service life of your boiler
many times over.
Our boiler descaling service not only descales the boiler without chemicals, but also protects it against corrosion.
We carry all spare parts such as seals, anodes, and heating elements in our service vehicle.
We provide personal advice and determine the service intervals on an individual basis.
Limescale deposits reduce
the performance
of your boiler
Calcification
An average four-person household consumes approximately 250 liters of hot water every day for the kitchen, bathroom, and personal hygiene. Extrapolated over a year, a boiler therefore produces around 90,000 liters of hot water. After three years, around 300,000 liters of water will have passed through the boiler. For hygiene reasons alone, it is now advisable to have the boiler serviced.
With all this water, sand, mud, and other foreign particles have been washed in and have settled in the "boiler sump." There, they form an ideal breeding ground for bacteria.
The following examples show that limescale has also accumulated inside the boiler during this time. Limescale formation depends on various factors. These include the hardness of the water, the operating temperature, but above all the heating system and hot water consumption. Increasing calcification leads to increased energy consumption, reduces the boiler's performance and, in severe cases, can lead to operational interruptions and even destroy the radiator.
Corrosion is a bigger problem
than calcification, as it is usually only discovered
once damage has already occurred
.
The anode protects the boiler from corrosion.
The example shows anode degradation over time.
Corrosion (rust)
As water supplies increasingly use a mixture of different types of water (spring water, groundwater, seawater), the high oxygen and carbon dioxide content in the water is leading to more and more corrosion in boilers.
In enamelled boilers, for example, the different expansion rates of steel and enamel cause fine hairline cracks to form in the enamel, which are subject to more or less rapid corrosion. To prevent corrosion and extend the service life of the boilers, one or more magnesium alloy anodes are installed in the tank. The magnesium in this anode has a distinctly negative electrochemical potential compared to that of the other metals in the appliance.
If there is an anode in the water heater, the corrosive effect of the water is directed to the anode, whose material is slowly consumed. In this context, we refer to cathodic corrosion protection because the magnesium protective anode protects the cathode, i.e., the steel boiler.
Nowadays, almost all boilers are enamelled and equipped with magnesium protective anodes. This allows the natural aggressiveness of the water to be corrected. Plasticized and cemented boilers, chrome steel boilers and even black steel boilers can also be cathodically protected against corrosion with the magnesium protective anode, which also has a positive effect on the lime structure.
• Are you bothered by stubborn
limescale deposits in your home?
• Do you sometimes get red
water coming out of your tap?
