Painting and plastering for you: the fourth generation
I was born into this trade. The men in our family have been plastering and painting since 1898, when my great-grandfather founded the business. The tradition was always maintained that the son was apprenticed to his father, who inherited the house at Schulhausstrasse 5 and was able to take over the solidly grown, successful business.
I am leading the business into the future with this history, after my father worked in the business until 2008. Yves Schmid completed his apprenticeship as a painter with me and we have been working side by side since he passed his exams.

The Walkers: from yesterday to today
1898: August Walker founds the Walker plastering business and hires his father as a plasterer.
1913 to 1915: Werner Walker learns the trade in his father's business. In 1931, he joins his father and takes over the plastering business after his father's death in 1941. He works with his son Hans until 1979.
1950 to 1954: Hans Walker, my father, learns in his parents' business. In 1960, he passes the master plasterer's examination and takes over the company in 1966.
