In 1972, construction of the Métallurgie vaudoise du bâtiment (Mevauba) building at rue du Maupas 34 in Lausanne was completed.

The Building Committee, made up of the president of the Caisses de prévoyance sociale des Maîtres ferblantiers, appareilleurs, installateurs électriciens, installateurs de chauffages centraux et couvreurs and representatives of the three owners' associations respectively named at that time the Association cantonale vaudoise des installateurs électriciens, the Chambre syndicale vaudoise des installateurs de chauffage et de ventilation and the Fédération vaudoise des Maîtres ferblantiers et appareilleurs were provided with a modern, well-designed building.

Since its inauguration in October 1972, this new building has housed the secretariats of the three owner associations and the administration of the Caisses de prévoyance sociale.

The Mevauba sign thus made it possible to strengthen ties between the three associations of the Métallurgie vaudoise du bâtiment and also, already, to create inter-professional synergies that have only grown stronger over time.
