What we do!

As the umbrella organization for visual impairment since 1903, we are committed to enabling blind, deafblind, visually impaired, and hearing-impaired individuals to live as independently as possible in their daily lives, according to their own abilities.

Key services provided by the UCBA:

• Development and sale of assistive devices for blind, visually impaired, and deafblind people at fair prices;
• Advice and support, as well as training and leisure programs for people with deafblindness;
• Continuing education for specialists working with people with visual impairments and deafblindness, with or without multiple disabilities;
• Low vision counseling and training in the use of optical aids (magnifying glasses, reading devices, etc.).
• Research on phenomena related to blindness, low vision, and deafblindness.
• Coordination of collaboration and advocacy in the field of visual impairment.
• Specialized library on blindness, visual impairment, and deafblindness.
