Who are we?

LA FONDATION DEO GRATIAS

was created on November 1, 1983, it was incorporated by notarial deed on June 18, 1987.  In accordance with the wishes of founders Madeleine and Jean-Pierre Tauxe-Desgraz, the statutes specify that it is an autonomous, interdenominational Christian foundation not dependent on any ecclesiastical authority. With a view to bearing witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, its purpose is to promote and carry out all social, cultural and cultic activities. It is recognized as being of purely public utility and enjoys the usual tax exemption.

A beautiful story...

The origin of the Foundation is based on the following two essential and complementary notions:

The first is that for many years, notably because of his experience on the ecclesiastical level, Jean-Pierre Tauxe had acquired the conviction of the need to create a place of welcome open to all families or individuals wishing to find a haven for listening, rest (vacations) or refuge.

With no means at his disposal and his idea meeting with virtually no response at the time, apart from the moral support of his friend Mr. René Filletaz, the interested party decided to wait for God's sign, considering the legal form of a Foundation of pure public utility to be the most appropriate for the creation of such an enterprise, given the country's political and social structures.
