To all my female and male friends, we are almost all going through the next phase of our lives.

We are at an age where the hair is thinning and graying, the wrinkles are increasing and the washboard six-pack is turning into a laundry drum.

We see young and fit 25-year-olds and reminisce. But we were 25 once too, just like they will be one day at our age. What they have in their youth and recklessness, we have in our wisdom and experience. We are no longer the fastest, but we know many a shortcut in life.

We have managed families, households, paid the bills, coped with illness and sadness.

We are warriors at rest.... like a classic car or a fine wine.

Although our bodies may not be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage and our strength.

We will all approach this chapter of our lives with humility, grace and pride because of all we have been through.

And we should never feel bad just because we're getting older. .........

It's a privilege that is denied to so many.
