BGV has been insuring all buildings in the canton of Basel-Landschaft against fire and natural hazards since 1833. It is one of the few building insurers in Switzerland to also offer its customers water damage insurance. BGV is a non-profit organization, but its activities are based on economic principles. With its commitment to fire protection, prevention of natural hazards, occupational health and safety and fire departments, it is not just an insurance company, but a real safety institution for all people living and working in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.
