Wonderful blooms until late fall Our aim is to produce plants that deliver full flowering and consistent growth from May to October - regardless of the weather conditions. This requires that we have gained experience over
three generations in all kinds of breeding, e.g. to find the best characteristics of the same varieties or
species for our region. We also have the advantage of the inner-Alpine climatic conditions, including plenty of natural light or the daily warmth and also the nightly coolness
in the greenhouses and hotbeds, in order to exploit the so-called "cool morning" effect, which generates strong and hardy plants. In order to maintain the quality of the plants throughout the summer flowering season, we have once again decided to
deliver the now well-known Hirt special fertilizer mixture free of charge. This year, we are again giving you the unique combination mix fertilizer, compiled based on many years of experience, the quantity of which is determined after your purchase - plus additional advice from
our specialist staff. Just buy where it grows. The summer flower season is just around the corner
But watch out: Spring 2017 has once again shown that in our regions, April - this time even heavily into May - can still bring some frost or snowfall, which can damage summer plants. It is therefore advisable to wait until the beginning of May. Cucumbers, courgettes, tomatoes and peppers, among others, should certainly not be planted due to the lack of warmth in the soil in April. Have you already planted vegetables in pots? Without a plague of snails and where a sudden thunderstorm won't cause any damage because everything can be taken under cover. Seed potatoes, seed onions and an efficient range of seeds are now also available again at the Hirt nursery.

Over 40 geranium varieties - an exceptional selection. Our traditional company from Glarus South is not only known for producing countless flowers (e.g. 30,000 geraniums in over 40 varieties from our own mother plants) or with an annual production of around 400,000 different plants. We are also there when it comes to supplying gardening enthusiasts with quality plants for beds and balconies and a wide range of herbs and vegetable seedlings (35,000), as well as providing valuable tips. For example: Balcony boxes 60 cm long are usually planted with 3 plants, 80 cm boxes with 4 plants of our quality. Quality plants belong in quality soil - there's no getting around it
If you want to have a lush bloom all summer long, you should not only use selected plants, but also high-quality potting soil. We - the Hirt nursery - have successfully stocked this in our range for years. Anyone who still likes to use the plants themselves will receive the extremely popular Hirt special fertilizer mixture free of charge again this year when purchasing bedding and balcony plants. This serves both as a starter fertilizer for good growth and as a long-term fertilizer for strong plants and bright flowers. Or you can leave the planting - according to your wishes - to us. Then simply drop off your balcony boxes and flower pots and you can take them home again after a short planting period.
