The services offered to the local population and to the many tourists who visit the region each year are multiple and complementary to those provided by the other institutions that make up the multisite EOC hospital, thus guaranteeing one of the hallmarks of the Cantonal Hospital Authority: a multidisciplinary approach and uniform patient care.
Examples include: the category A emergency room, the dialysis outpatient clinic (also open to nonresidents), the intensive care service, a safe and welcoming maternity ward that works closely with our neonatology unit, and, for those interested in complementary therapies, the Traditional Chinese Medicine outpatient clinic.
The physicians, nursing and techno-medical staff as well as the hotel service staff contribute to the excellent reputation of our Hospital, the only health care institution in Switzerland to have achieved in May 2008 Accreditation for Excellence Joint Commission International, thus confirming it as one of the health care facilities most attentive to quality and patient safety.
The Locarno Regional Hospital relies on the close collaboration of primary care physicians and specialists in the Locarno area (Circolo medico Locarno e Valli) and is, like all the other health facilities that make up the multisite EOC hospital, a point of access not only to the individual institution, but to the entire EOC hospital structure and the specializations offered.
