With the "Center for Children, Youth, and Families," the city of Lucerne has created a central point of contact for family issues and achieved an important milestone in its family policy objectives.
The building at Kasernenplatz 3 (access via the courtyard) offers information, advice, prevention, and support for children, young people, and families under one roof.
The city of Lucerne pursues an active and needs-based approach to supporting children, young people, and families. The Children, Youth and Family Service of the City of Lucerne's Department of Social Affairs and Security is responsible for implementing this policy. The department's main tasks are: promoting work-life balance, providing counseling services, organizing leisure activities and promoting participation, prevention, and providing residential services at the Utenberg children's and youth settlement.
Our principle
We build on the resources, potential, and personal responsibility of children, young people, and families and support them—where necessary—together with partners from the private and non-profit sectors.
