For generations, knives and scissors have been among the most important tools in the kitchen and in trade. Experience and a great deal of sensitivity are required to give cutting tools the perfect edge. The process of creating the perfect blade requires seven steps, and our profession has always used water-cooled, rotating grinding stones. Whether for trade, household, garden, or workshop, I will bring your tool into the desired shape—so that the blade can once again perform its tasks flawlessly.

Are you cutting or still struggling? Work is only enjoyable when knives glide effortlessly through the material and scissors cut smoothly and velvety. Sharp knives are also safer. This is not a contradiction, because you handle sharp knives more carefully and are less likely to slip.

SICKLE MOWING WORKSHOP

Is the grass in your garden growing over your head?

I will show you how to use a scythe, mowing techniques, and sharpening at your home on your lawn. Please reserve about 1 hour of time. The course costs CHF 120 (including the use of a practice scythe and travel within 15 minutes of Lucerne).

In a separate module, I will teach you how to sharpen with a hammer.

I grew up on a farm and have been using a scythe since I was a child. I now successfully participate in hand mowing competitions throughout Switzerland. Scything is an old passion that I enjoy cultivating and passing on.
