QUESTIONS AND TERMS
What are orthoses?
Orthotics stabilize, relieve pressure, correct, support, and protect in cases of limited or lost function of an upper or lower limb, the neck, or the torso. They are applied externally to the affected areas in an optimal manner, individually crafted with precision by hand, or, if possible, carefully adjusted and fitted as ready-made items. Orthoses are suitable as permanent aids, for rehabilitation, and for athletic activities.
We would be happy to work with you to find the optimal solution.
When are bandages used?
In orthopedic terms, a bandage is a so-called "compression knit" made of firm yet elastic fabric that can be applied to various parts of the body.
Orthopedic bandages are primarily used in two areas today:
- They are used for therapy in cases of muscular restrictions or joint problems, such as strains, by supporting the healing process in that they prevent painful movements and protect against renewed strain.
- They can be used in sports to prevent painful overexertion. In addition, they warm the skin and muscles, thereby promoting blood circulation.
What are prostheses?
Prostheses serve to take over the function of a missing body part and, if desired, also restore its external appearance.
Prostheses are available from the toes to the hips, and from the fingers to the shoulders.
With a high degree of empathy, we are committed to helping you maintain your mobility.
What are compression stockings?
Compression stockings are made of elastic fibers that exert pressure (compression) on the tissue. They are used in two different areas:
- To support the leg veins by improving blood circulation. This makes them medically effective for swollen, tired legs, for example during pregnancy, or for varicose veins and venous diseases.
- For lymph and lipedema, they remedy the excessive accumulation of lymph fluid or unhealthy fat distribution. They can be worn on the legs and arms.
- Compression stockings are available in many different trendy colors—we will be happy to advise you.
What are orthopedic shoe insoles?
Many foot deformities and foot problems can be effectively and sustainably counteracted with orthopedic insoles. The deformities are digitally determined as part of a foot and gait analysis. The data obtained is then used in our in-house CAD program to manufacture insoles according to your individual needs.
What are sensorimotor shoe insoles?
These are insoles that can influence the muscles through targeted pressure points.
Weak muscles can be activated and hyperactive muscles can be controlled.
The insoles, which are individually developed in CAD and CNC-milled, are manufactured in our workshop.
What is the purpose of a foot and gait analysis?
Dynamic foot and gait analysis identifies unphysiological movement patterns, misalignments of the musculoskeletal system, and pressure points on the feet.
Dynamic and static pressure measurement plates analyze the extent and distribution of the forces acting on the foot and make them graphically visible in digital form, forming the basis for optimal footbeds.
What are shoe modifications?
For various types of foot problems, such as osteoarthritis, it is possible to adapt ready-made shoes to the individual needs of the customer, for example by means of roll-off aids, buffer heels, or sole stiffeners.
What are custom-made orthopedic shoes?
Custom-made orthopedic shoes are used when standard orthopedic treatments are not sufficient, particularly in cases of foot deformities.
For this type of treatment, the shape of the affected foot is measured precisely in order to adapt the footwear to the individual circumstances of the patient as best as possible.
Custom-made orthopedic shoes are recommended for diabetes, rheumatism, and osteoarthritis.
What are rehabilitation and medical products?
Rehabilitation products include walking aids (such as walking sticks, forearm crutches, and rollators) and other aids such as wheelchairs. We are also happy to offer you a wide range of medical supplies.
What are orthopedic standard shoes?
These are shoes that are suitable for treating pathological foot shapes by supplementing them with orthopedic shoe technology measures, i.e., individual footbeds and orthopedic shoe modifications.
What are comfortable shoes?
Our range includes a carefully selected collection of shoes that are extremely comfortable to wear. All our models are equipped with comfortable removable insoles, which are particularly suitable for orthopedic shoe inserts.
