The association elbe, Fachstelle für Lebensfragen, has been running a counseling center since 1973 on behalf of the cantons of Lucerne, Obwalden and Nidwalden and the three cantonal and regional churches. It thus fulfills the legal obligation of the cantons to run marriage, family and pregnancy counselling centres.

Our specialists are psychotherapists with a cantonal license to practice as well as psychologists and social workers with additional training. They are bound by the guiding principles and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

The elbe is financed by contributions from the supporting organizations and cost sharing from those seeking advice. We also rely on donations in order to provide counseling to people who do not have the financial means to take advantage of individual or couples therapy.
