HISTORY

In 1914, a large sign at the entrance of a store in Cioccaro Square in the city's historic center testifies to the beginning of La Tipografica SA while the articles of incorporation of the current company date back to 1927.

In the 1950s La Tipografica SA moved to number 19 Via Carlo Maderno in Lugano, still the company's headquarters for printing and offices. In those years, major technological innovations were faced with the transition from the old, artisanal "type" printing to offset printing. This expanded the product range to produce magazines and large-format printed matter.

The major breakthrough occurred in 1987 with the new board of directors succeeding in rationalizing production processes.

In the span of a decade, the turnover grows enormously such that space is expanded and new machinery is invested, with a focus on prepress. Since 2006 La Tipografica SA has been concentrating more of its attention and production in the commercial and private sector so much so that it wants to qualify itself as the "printing boutique".

A niche market choice for a demanding clientele.

Constant renewal of equipment has enabled quality production at competitive prices: professionalism and competitiveness become very important.

In a highly dynamic and competitive market such as today's, it has been able to grasp the changes by implementing continuous improvement and is now a consultant and partner to its customers.

The type of printing presses and a good business organization enable  to produce products for private individuals in short to medium runs such as business cards, greeting cards, stationery and envelopes, flyers and brochures and at the same time produce high-volume work such as large-format brochures, newspapers and magazines on Heidelberg Print Master 70/100 five-color plus lacquer.
