On January 1, 1970, Hansruedi Christen became self-employed and founded his own construction company. Initially, the construction activities of the sole proprietorship Hansruedi Christen covered the areas of renovations and agricultural buildings. Over the years, the Christen company expanded into residential construction, especially single-family homes. Later, multi-family houses and public buildings were added. In summer 2004, the family business was transformed into a public limited company, Christen Bau AG. From then on, Daniel Christen took over the management. The purchase of land in Hüswil enabled a branch to be established at Bernstrasse 13b in Hüswil/Zell in 2014.
