Professional career

There are many paths that lead a person to their goal. They are not always straight, which is what I find so exciting about life.

I originally completed two apprenticeships in the skilled trades. One as a carpenter and then one as a joiner. I have always been fascinated by construction and creating things with my hands.

An accident that made it difficult for me to continue working in my skilled trades drew my attention to the profession of occupational therapist.

This opened up the opportunity for me to learn a new field of activity in which my manual skills were useful.

After qualifying as a certified occupational therapist, I had the opportunity to work in a clinic at a center for patients with traumatic brain injuries and coma patients.

In 2001, I seized the opportunity to take up a position as an occupational therapist in Switzerland. I was able to further expand and deepen my knowledge in the fields of neurology and orthopedics, where I was now working.

My goal was to create optimal conditions for treating patients in addition to providing the best possible treatment. I was given the opportunity to set up an entire neurology department at the Privat Klinik im Park. I learned a great deal and gained a lot of new experience, such as how important it is to have a good treatment concept for the optimal treatment of patients.
