Description
Our school
The Lycée Pareto is the only private school, in the whole of Switzerland, authorized to deliver two diplomas (European Maturité and Baccalauréat S) simultaneously, giving direct access to all Swiss and European Universities.
Our history
The Lycée Pareto in Lausanne was founded in 1948 by Professor Comini. Its name refers to the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who taught at the University of Lausanne from 1894 to 1907, and whose findings are still employed today in finance, management and many other fields.
At the end of the 2002/03 school year, the school moved to its current headquarters in the historic center of Lausanne. The new facility guarantees a structure built and adapted for didactic use, as well as a shorter commuting route for students.
At the end of the school year, the school moved to its current location in the historic center of Lausanne.
From the 2005/06 school year the school has become a bilingual Italian-Swiss Lycée. The project, approved by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is based on a fully bilingual high school curriculum.
The Lycée Pare is a bilingual school.
The Lycée Pareto offers a quality education, certified by the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS) and IQNET, according to ISO 9001:2008 standards.
Didactics
The Lycée Pareto aims to produce young people who are able to face the academic, professional and personal challenges that life may present.
Our school promotes a teaching model based on the integration of the elements studied in order to provide a broad and interconnected cognitive background.
Pareto High School promotes the development of each student's analytical ability, thanks to which he or she will be able to understand a problem, devise an effective course of action to solve it and carry out the planned project, within the timeframe and in the form required by the teacher.
The school's study plan extends over four years, at the end of which an internal school examination must be supported for the final diploma, accepted by all Swiss and European universities.
To enroll with our school it is required that the student be in possession of an Italian Lower Secondary School License or a title deemed equivalent, which attests that the student has successfully attended eight years of study. Students are then admitted to intermediate or final year courses, depending on the curriculum already followed. (For further information, download the school year conversion table).

ESABAC study program
ESABAC is a study program established by a bilateral agreement signed between France and Italy. Its aim is to offer an appropriate training program both north and south of the Alps, facilitating cultural exchange and linguistic enrichment, while providing easier access to Italian, French and European universities.
The program's name is a clear indication of its importance.
The name clearly indicates the intention of the program's designers: ESA (Esame di Stato Italiano) and BAC (French Baccalauréat).
The operation of this study program is very simple. In addition to the subjects taught at Lycée Pareto, there are hours of French language and literature, as well as history (2 hours per week). Given the small number of hours added, our school has decided to extend this ESABAC offer to all new students enrolled from the 2015-6 school year.
.All this means, that by attending courses with Lycée Pareto, students will be able to obtain three diplomas in one: a Swiss study diploma (valid for attending all universities in the Swiss Confederation), the Italian Maturité scientifique, and in addition the French Baccalauréat S. This is undoubtedly an important advantage that our school can offer its students. Finally, thanks to the high quality of its didactic plans, Lycée Pareto is the only school in Switzerland to have received ESABAC accreditation.
