In the canton of Vaud, two professions share the task of representing parties before the judicial authorities and the debt collection and bankruptcy offices. These are lawyers and licensed business agents.

However, while the public is familiar with the work of lawyers, the same cannot be said for licensed business agents. This profession is very old, as it is mentioned in legal texts dating back to the early 17th century, but it was not until 1806 that the Grand Council of the canton of Vaud clearly legislated on the conditions for practicing it. Licensed business agents are recognized at the federal level under the Swiss Code of Civil Procedure as professional representatives authorized to represent parties in court.

At the cantonal level, licensed business agents may be consulted in all property cases assigned to the Justice of the Peace, the President of the District Court, the Lease Court, the Labor Court, as well as those that must undergo prior conciliation and in a number of urgent protective proceedings, regardless of the amount in dispute.

Certified business agents are bound by professional secrecy, which only the client can waive.

The firm: The firm was opened in Lausanne on May 1, 1995, by Thierry ZUMBACH, a certified business agent.

Initially located on Rue des Terreaux in Lausanne, the firm moved in June 2001 to Rue de Cossonay 192 in Renens, where it is still located today; this is the main office.
