Portico comes from the Italian and means portico, similar to the arcades in Bern's old town. In the past, individual craftsmen's workshops were located next door to each other under these arcades work was often carried out in close collaboration.

We Francesco Balzardi and Linda Steiner work with the same idea under the name portico-restauro. As sole traders, we share a studio. For larger orders, we work closely with long-standing partner companies.

Both have completed specialist training as carpenters and additional training as furniture restorers.
