Emergencies and acute eye diseases:(short-term appointments can be made for emergencies)

The following symptoms require immediate ophthalmological attention:

• Abrupt reduction in vision

• Seeing a beam or shadow (e.g. in the case of retinal detachment).e.g. with retinal detachment)

• Sight of bright flashes or black dots and threads. These are symptoms of posterior vitreous detachment, which can lead to a retinal tear. To avoid a resulting retinal detachment, a simple laser treatment in the practice is necessary.

• Straight lines that are suddenly perceived as wavy or curved

• Acute double vision

• A painful eye

• A severely reddened, sticky, ulcerated, swollen eye

• Foreign bodies (e.g. fine metal splinters).(e.g. fine metal splinters from grinding) must be removed before a rust reaction or infection occurs.

Modern eye surgery has developed into extremely minimally invasive surgery, meaning that the vast majority of operations can be performed on an outpatient basis. A modern day clinic can meet the new needs of outpatient eye surgery better than most hospitals can.

At AugenCentrum Zytologie, patients are also cared for by their trusted practice assistants in the clinic. In a pleasant ambience, they contribute greatly to a calming atmosphere. Thanks to the optimized and entertaining procedures, patients can be back home after just a few hours.

The clinic of the AugenCentrum Zytglogge is an eye surgery center at the highest medical level. Specifically designed for outpatient eye surgery, our dedicated and well-coordinated team achieves optimal surgical procedures with the highest quality standards. We can operate on up to 200 eyes in one week, which provides a high level of routine and safety. As an alternative to the large clinics and hospitals, we focus on individual patient care in a quiet and familiar environment. An experienced team of anaesthetists ensures optimal preparation and safety for patients.
