The Aaretal Music School was founded in 1980 (as the Münsingen Music School). Since 01.01.2019, the Aaretal Music School has been run by the Aaretal Music School Association, which is recognized by the canton. The municipalities of Gerzensee, Häutligen, Heimberg, Jaberg, Kiesen, Kirchdorf, Münsingen, Oppligen, Rubigen and Wichtrach have concluded a service agreement with this association. The Aaretal Music School is one of 29 music schools recognized by the Canton of Berne. It is a member of the Association of Bernese Music Schools VBMS, which in turn is a member of the Swiss Association of Music Schools VMS 

Since October 2019, our music school has been certified according to the "quarte Open Label" quality management system of the VMS.
