The Caisse cantonale neuchâteloise de compensation (CCNC), in its capacity as the implementing body for social insurance carries out the following tasks delegated to it by the Confederation:
 

• The determination and payment of AVS, AI, APG, Amat, APat, APC and family allowance benefits in agriculture;
• The collection of AVS, AI, APG and family allowance contributions in agriculture;
• The collection of unemployment insurance contributions;
• The collection of contributions and payment of benefits under the federal family allowance scheme in agriculture;
• The determination and payment of transitional benefits for older unemployed persons;
• The supervision of its members concerning compulsory affiliation to a recognized occupational pension and accident insurance institution.

It also carries out, with the approval of the Confederation, the following tasks delegated to it by the canton:
 

• The determination and payment of supplementary OASI/DI benefits;
• The determination and payment of cantonal family allowances;
• The collection of cantonal family allowance contributions;
• The collection of contributions for the fund for professional training and development (FFPP);
• The collection of contributions for childcare (LAE);
• The collection of contributions for the fund to encourage initial vocational training in the dual mode (LFFD).
