Pressel Massage
This massage technique was developed in the mid-twentieth century, first in Germany, then in Europe. Although its name evokes the term "pressure," Pressel massage is simply associated with the doctor who created it. Simeon Pressel defined his anthroposophically inspired method as a means of "undoing the knots of fate."
Disturbances in the flow of vital energy gradually become embedded in the muscles, leading to a loss of flexibility and elasticity. Pressel massage can be applied to any muscles where tension, crystallization, physical or emotional stress, or inflammation is observed. It targets painful areas and seeks to release them using specific finger movements.
Rhythmic massage
Rhythmic massage is a form of classic massage inspired by the anthroposophical approach.
Its basic movements are kneading, friction, and effleurage. The therapist performs these movements at different rhythms, listening to the needs of the person being massaged.
With rhythmic massage, the tissues are mobilized from deep within to the periphery in a supple, fluid, and particularly airy manner. Depending on the situation, the movements can be performed with varying degrees of intensity, gently or vigorously, locally or more broadly, slowly or quickly.
Depending on the case, an anointing (application of specific oil) on an organ may complete the massage session.
Lymphatic drainage
Water is the basis of life. It ensures molecular and cellular exchanges in our body. Seventy percent of our body is composed of this precious liquid.
In the body, the lymphatic system transports water, as well as proteins, fat molecules, free cells, and waste products to the central venous system.
During a lymphatic drainage session, the massage is performed using circular movements at a very regular rhythm. It stimulates lymphatic and venous circulation. It acts as a regulator of the autonomic nervous system. Stimulation of the lymph nodes promotes the production of antibodies, repair cells, and the body's defense cells.
In cases of severe lymphedema, intensive treatment with bandages is recommended.
Acid-base balance in the body
Acid-base balance is defined as the correct level of acidity in our body. The unit of measurement is pH: hydrogen potential, which can be easily measured via our urine and pH test strips.
Poor-quality food and certain eating habits, as well as stress, negative thoughts, and poorly channeled aggression, promote excessive acidification of the body. In order to buffer this acidity, the body draws on the alkaline minerals present in our reserves: bones, cartilage, teeth, etc.
Years of excess acidity can cause demineralization, which can lead to osteoarthritis, arthritis, osteoporosis, tooth decay, and a number of metabolic diseases.
Schüssler salts
At the end of the nineteenth century, German physician W. H. Schüssler developed a treatment he called "biochemical." He treated disorders and ailments with preparations containing mineral salts in potentized form, as he believed that adding tiny amounts of the missing substance from outside sources could improve health.
In developing his therapeutic method, he selected 12 mineral salts that could be used to restore normal cell function in a holistic manner.
Dr. Schüssler believed that the balanced presence of these twelve mineral substances within the body ensures the good health of cellular life and of the individual as a whole.
