Introduction
Le Clos is a beautiful Neuchâtel mansion dating from the late 19th century and belonged to the Erhard-Borel family, whose name is linked to the industrial life of Serrières. The family was active in various fields from 1745 to 1894, and its members were pioneers in mechanization and papermaking. Erhard Borel's brother Charles was particularly involved in milling, and was the first to introduce the English mill system to Switzerland. This street did not exist until 1811. Clos used to mean the end of a built-up area. Le Clos de Serrières was just that: the end of the town of Neuchâtel and the village of Auvernier.
Le Clos has been part of the Fondation établissements cantonaux pour personnes âgées since 1973, and is home to 21 people. Our institution offers day-to-day support that respects the lifestyle, personality and independence of the elderly person.
This support is provided in concert with the care provided by the Foundation.
This concerted support aims to maintain physical and mental capacities in a secure, adapted living environment.
The quasi-family dimension of the institution and the warm atmosphere that reigns there, imbued with mutual respect, listening and observation, contribute to the well-being of each individual. Each resident has the power of decision, the ability to decide on his or her life and is free to act.
We are open to the outside world thanks to our geographical location and the integration of residents into a lively, bustling neighborhood. This neighborhood is linked to the center of Neuchâtel by bus, one stop of which is close to the institution. Whenever possible, residents are encouraged to maintain their social network and continue their outing habits, whether it's to the hairdresser, the pedicure, their games club or simply to meet friends.
.Visitors are welcome in the institution to share a moment and even have a meal.
We gladly welcome family members or friends for lunch, dinner and parties held here.
The institution is subject to the following certifications:
- to the LFinEMS
- to the regulation on the Authorization to Operate and Supervise Institutions,
