Presentation of the "Le Clos" retirement home
Presentation
Le Clos is a beautiful late 19th-century residence in Neuchâtel that belonged to the Erhard-Borel family, whose name is linked to the industrial history of Serrières. This family was active in various fields from 1745 to 1894, and its members were pioneers in mechanization and paper manufacturing. Erhard Borel's brother, Charles, was particularly involved in milling and was the first to introduce the English mill system to Switzerland. Until 1811, this street did not exist. In the past, clos meant the end of the built-up area. Le Clos de Serrières was just that: the end of the city of Neuchâtel and the village of Auvernier.
Since 1973, Le Clos has been part of the Cantonal Foundation for the Elderly and accommodates 21 people. Our institution offers daily support that respects the lifestyle, personality, and independence of the elderly.
This support, provided in consultation with residents, aims to maintain their physical and mental abilities in a safe and suitable living environment.
The quasi-family atmosphere of the institution and the warm climate that reigns there, marked by mutual respect, listening, and observation, contribute to the well-being of everyone. Each resident has the power to make decisions, the ability to decide about their own life, and is free to act as they wish.
We are open to the outside world thanks to our geographical location and the integration of residents into a lively and vibrant neighborhood. This neighborhood is connected to the center of Neuchâtel by buses, with a stop located near the institution. Where possible, residents are encouraged to maintain their social network and continue their usual outings, whether to the hairdresser, pedicurist, their games club, or simply to meet friends.
Visitors are welcome at the facility to spend time with residents and even have a meal with them.
We are happy to welcome family members or friends for lunch, dinner, and parties organized at the facility.
The institution is subject to the following certifications:
- the LFinEMS
- the regulations on the Authorization to Operate and Supervision of Institutions,
- the Collective Labor Agreement CCT Santé 21.
It is a member of the Neuchâtel Association of Institutions for the Elderly (ANEMPA).
