Description
Egnach: Many fruit trees, 68 hamlets and four railroad stations
Located between Arbon, Romanshorn and Amriswil, the rural community of Egnach offers everything you need for a pleasant life. Four railroad stations are a Thurgau record.
If you had to describe the heart of Mostindia, it would probably be in Egnach: 15 percent of the inhabitants of the community of around 5200 people still work in agriculture. Although there is no longer a large cider factory, the open landscape between rolling hills and the shores of Lake Constance is still dominated by fruit and berry cultivation. Every fourth berry in Switzerland comes from the municipality of Egnach. They are processed and stored at Tobi Seeobst AG, right next to Egnach railroad station. The largely intact, traditional settlement structure is also attractive: the four villages of Egnach, Neukirch, Steinebrunn and Winden form the main centers and the municipality still has 68 hamlets. Also a Thurgau record.
