Egnach: Many fruit trees, 68 hamlets, and four train stations
Located between Arbon, Romanshorn, and Amriswil, the rural community of Egnach offers everything you need for a pleasant life. Four train stations are a record for Thurgau.
If one had to describe the heart of Mostindien, it would probably be in Egnach: 15 percent of the inhabitants of this community of around 5,200 people are still involved in agriculture. Although there are no longer any large cider mills, fruit and berry cultivation still dominates the open landscape between rolling hills and the shores of Lake Constance. Every fourth berry in Switzerland comes from the municipality of Egnach. They are processed and stored at Tobi Seeobst AG, right next to Egnach station. The largely intact, traditional settlement structure is also charming: the four villages of Egnach, Neukirch, Steinebrunn, and Winden form the main centers, and the municipality still has 68 hamlets. This is also a Thurgau record.
