The wastewater treatment plant is in operation 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. After the inlet lift station, the wastewater is treated mechanically (coarse screen, fine screen, grit chamber; primary clarification). Denitrification and nitrification take place in the following biological stage. Phosphorus is eliminated by precipitation with iron salts. Sedimentation of the activated sludge takes place in the subsequent secondary clarification stage. The treated wastewater is discharged into the Glatt after secondary clarification.
