An innovative structure for day and night care

Butini Terrasse is an innovative structure offering a unique program of combined day and night outpatient care for elderly people suffering from significant cognitive impairment. 
While it promotes homecare for those cared for, Butini Terrasse's main aim is to relieve the burden on their family carers by making it easier for them to continue working and offering them time for respite. 

More generally, like the canton's generalist day-care homes, Butini Terrasse pursues the objectives defined by the State, namely:  

• Favoring home maintenance for elderly people losing their independence.

• Avoiding inappropriate hospitalization or shortening a hospital stay.

• Breaking the isolation by offering a social life and adapted activities.

• Helping to overcome a difficult emotional or health-related period in life.

• Delaying entry into a long-stay facility (EMS).

• Familiarizing people with community life and easing the transition between home and EMS.

• Accompanying andsupporting family and loved ones.
