In the 1970s, Jura-born Raymond Jubin bought and sold companies. He acquired one that was active in wood and coal. At the time, the majority of homes were heated with these two materials. However, oil gradually appeared on the market. That's when Raymond's sons Denis and Jean-Claude set their sights on this energy source. They decided to keep the recently purchased business, and in 1973 Jubin Frères SA was born, still based in Porrentruy, in the canton of Jura. The two sons used a truck to transport wood and coal. Later, they installed a 6,000-liter tank to make the first deliveries of fuel oil and diesel.

Working solely in the sale of petroleum products until the second half of the 1990s, when it gradually began to abandon wood and coal, the company then sought to broaden its activities. It decided to diversify into fuels. It was at this point that the first service station was built in Courgenay in 1996, the first of many to follow, as over the years Jubin Frères took advantage of the abandonment of small stations by the major oil groups to create its own network. The development of this network began in the Jura region, before extending to the whole of French-speaking Switzerland. By 2020, the family business is one of the country's largest distributors. What's more, the company offers its own "Jubin Card", valid throughout the entire network of Jubin stations. This card is a real plus for customers, thanks to the advantages it offers. The number of new customers for this service is actually steadily increasing.

The portfolio of activities expands even further in 2018. Indeed, Jubin Frères is taking over the operation of several shops already included in the network but previously belonging to private owners. From now on, the company is also banking on the development of its sales outlets with the aim of offering attractive service and goods to its customers.

As for the company's original business of selling and delivering petroleum products, it is still omnipresent. Despite restrictions on fossil fuels and the gradual phasing out of installations in most Swiss cantons, particularly Jura, the company has continued to grow. Historically, the first deliveries were made within the Jura canton, then expanded to include the Bernese Jura. However, for some years now, Jubin Frères has been using transporters to carry out deliveries on its behalf. This method of working has given the company the opportunity to supply private customers throughout French-speaking Switzerland. As a result, the list of new customers grows longer every year. From companies to private individuals, the clientele is rich and varied.

As a result of business expansion, the number of employees has risen sharply since 2010, prompting the construction of a new administrative building just a few yards from the old one. So, at the end of 2018, the twenty or so employees will be moving to the new workplace.

The company's new offices are located in the heart of the city.
