Wherever people and machines are at work, there will be some degree of noise. Süssmann AG in Zurich ensures that people can feel comfortable despite these sometimes annoying influences. The company was founded in 1893 and has made a name for itself in the field of thermal and sound insulation.

The company's history began quite unspectacularly with the purchase of land in Affoltern near Höngg by Carl Schmidt from Germany in the spring of 1893. In the same year, the manufacture of roofing felt began and continued as the main activity for over 80 years until 1977.

It was eventually replaced by the licensed manufacture of sound-absorbing materials under the "Siang" brand. Shortly afterwards, the product range was expanded to include the manufacture of thermal insulation under the "Thermo-Plus" brand.

Wide range

Today, Süssmann AG employs 25 people and has further expanded its range of products. In addition to the aforementioned soundproofing and thermal insulation products, the company also carries out flat roofing, building waterproofing, and moisture insulation, and trades in the corresponding products. Süssmann AG is also regarded as a competent partner and manufacturer of products for thermal insulation of basement ceilings and translucent facades.

Thermal insulation

In order to meet the high requirements of thermal insulation for basement ceilings on the one hand and behind translucent facade cladding on the other, we have developed the THERMO-PLUS and THERMO-PLUS COLOR insulation boards.

Building waterproofing

We have been carrying out building waterproofing for generations. We are happy to make our vast knowledge available to builders, planners, and engineers at any time. With around 20 employees, we take on all building waterproofing work for new buildings and renovations.

Our services include waterproofing flat roofs, terraces, and underground garages, laying foam glass insulation, roof maintenance (also available on a subscription basis), organizing plumbing work, greening roofs, and installing all types of walkways.
