The municipality of Reute is located in the Appenzell Vorderland region. Nestled in the hilly landscape on the outer edge of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Reute is open on all sides.

With its three hamlets of Mohren, Reute, and Schachen, this small municipality above the Rhine Valley in the Appenzell Vorderland has its own unique charm. Away from the major traffic routes yet still close to them (Au motorway junction, public transport), Reute offers you the chance to live in the countryside in a landscape with little fog. Thanks to good transport links in various directions, we can also recommend ourselves as a location for small businesses. The lively community, with just under 700 inhabitants at 700-800 meters above sea level, is an attractive, future-oriented place to live.
