Peter Räber drives:

The vehicles are regularly renewed.

The learner driver can choose which driving instructor they would like to learn with. Internal changes are possible at any time.

Car driving lesson prices
One lesson lasts 45 minutes, usually 60 minutes are agreed.

• 45 min Fr. 80.- / 60 min Fr. 105
• Small subscription:  Fr. 500 (full 5 hours in advance instead of 525)
• Large subscription: Fr. 1000 (10 full hours in advance instead of 1050)

In addition, the compulsory comprehensive insurance of CHF 100 must be paid at the beginning of the training course.


How do I get my car driving license?

1. If possible, attend an emergency assistance course before the age of 17, but the permit is only valid for 6 years.
    
2. Fill out the application form for the learner's permit (before 17). Attach 1 photo.
    
3. Take the form to the optician's, have your eyesight and hearing tested (test not older than 12 months!)
    
4. Then present yourself in person for identification either at the residents' registration office or directly at the road traffic office and also present either your ID, passport or foreigner's identity card. Important: only originals will be accepted

5. You will then receive a registration form for the theory test from the Road Traffic Office. The theory test can be taken 1 month before the age of 17. The number of retakes if the theory test is not passed is no longer limited. Waiting period: approx. 3-5 weeks.
    
6. Theory test passed: You will receive your learner's permit on your 17th birthday.
    
7. Now you may drive when accompanied by a driving instructor or private individuals who are at least 23 years old and have held the relevant driving license for at least 3 years.
8. New from 2021: You can start at the age of 17, but must now have at least 1 year of driving experience and be at least 18 years old before you are allowed to take the driving test.
9. Before the practical test, you must now attend compulsory road safety lessons at a driving school, which last 4 evenings of 2 lessons each. (or also 2 evenings of 4 hours each)

Of course, you should take a few driving lessons with a driving instructor in between. It helps. Important: Continue practising what you have learned as much as possible at home.

After passing your driving test, you must attend the WAB course (further training course) for 1 day within 1 year! Otherwise the license is no longer valid. (it is possible to make up the day with a request, only then are you allowed to drive again)


Motorcycle

Peter Räber teaches all motorcycle categories.

Attention: The basic motorcycle course must be attended within 4 months of receiving the learner's permit!!!

From 2021, a 12-hour course only needs to be taken once. Regardless of the category.

Prices for basic motorcycle courses

• 12 lessons: Fr. 520.-
• 4   lessons: Fr. 220.- (whether 4, 12 or no lessons at all is stated on your learner's permit)

Procedure for motorcycle training
For all applicants who do not yet have a category B or A1 license:

• Motorcyclist course, (permit must not be older than 6 years)
• Send application form for learner's permit to the road traffic office
• Take the basic theory test:
• From 15th birthday for A1, max. 50 ccm/45kmh,
• from 16th birthday with A1 max. 11kw power

After this, you will receive the learner's permit for the desired category.

All others must also always order a learner's permit. You are not allowed to drive without one.


Truck, car and C1

Peter Räber is very fond of trucks. He worked as a truck driver himself for several years.

Driving lessons are given on a Mercedes Actros 1844 truck (Cat. C) and trailer tests on an articulated vehicle (Cat. E articulated lorry).

You can no longer take the truck test as a direct entrant. You must first have passed the car test (Cat. B). Then truck (Cat. C) Only when this has been passed, the trailer test (C/E).

C1 heavy motor vehicles from 3.5 to 7.5 tons total weight (motorhome, fire department, ambulance) Peter Räber trains on his own vehicle, if necessary also on student vehicles.

Theory lessons are given in Au/ZH (opposite the train station). Truck theory courses (additional technical examination on legal and technical vehicle knowledge) are held on an ongoing basis.

Car

New regulation:

• An additional technical theory test must be passed
• Providing proof of driving experience:
  - Normal case: Regularly driving a Cat. C motor vehicles (within the last 2 years)
  - Without proof of driving experience: minimum training in accordance with the instructions of the Federal Roads Office (at a driving school)
