Orbetan Foundation – Organization for Caregiving Relatives
Most chronically ill or seriously ill people in palliative care situations want to be cared for at home in familiar surroundings. Some of the care and support required can be provided by Spitex, but the majority is provided by the relatives themselves. This involves long hours of care – often around the clock. Their own needs are increasingly put on hold, to the point of exhaustion. There are times when it all becomes too much. The task exceeds their strength. Then there is neither rest nor sleep.
That is why the Orbetan Foundation supports people who care for and look after sick relatives in need of care in the final stages of their lives. As a night Spitex service, it specializes in medical night watch and monitoring, as well as palliative care and complex care situations.
Other services: helpline, family group, grief counseling.
The Orbetan Foundation* is a non-commercial Spitex organization. Donations help to ensure the long-term operation of the foundation.
