Atelier Olivier Guyot – Contacts & Location
Description
We specialize in various areas such as preliminary studies, painting analyses and preventive and curative treatments of wall paintings, plasters, mortars and sculptures. We also work on all types of carved or painted decorations in the field of monumental architecture (marble and wood imitation painting, stucco work).
We are also trained and qualified to carry out conservation and restoration work on canvas paintings (easel paintings) and polychrome wooden sculptures.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we work closely with the cantonal authorities in French-speaking Switzerland responsible for the preservation of built heritage and with the Federal Commission for the Preservation of Historic Monuments.
Our team currently consists of a manager (Olivier Guyot), a co-manager for administrative tasks and, depending on the assignment, two to four experienced and qualified employees from Swiss universities (SUPSI, HE-arc, HKB Bern).
The studio regularly works in a consortium with Julian James (Guyot-James consortium) and is particularly active within the framework of the Atelier St-Dismas / Guyot-James on important restoration projects, such as the cathedral in Bern. In recent years, he has worked on major restoration projects such as the Cathedral of Fribourg, the Abbey Church of Payerne and the Basilica of Valeria in Sion.
Olivier Guyot is also an external lecturer at the HE-arc Neuchâtel, in the department for the conservation and restoration of stone and painted plaster.
