In 1990, Günther Marxer founded a company for commercial kitchens and refrigeration technology in Ruggell. The company, which was converted into a public limited company in 1994, has grown steadily ever since, making it necessary to move to larger premises in 1995. Today, Marxer Gastrochem AG operates in Liechtenstein and neighboring eastern Switzerland for clients from industry and commerce, private customers, and the government.

Another important milestone for Marxer Gastrochem AG was its move in October 2011 to the new building at Industriering 7 in Ruggell. The company's location in Ruggell features a year-round exhibition where visitors can experience the product range up close.
