Learn more on this page about our: flags (general information), parade flags, flags for hoisting.
Flags
By flags, we mean all emblems representing your colors or those of your company, association, municipality, canton, country, etc., which are flown. These representations made on fabric are either parade flags or banners, flags to be hoisted at the top of a flagpole, or pennants, which are miniatures of your emblem. The Chez Francine workshop offers hand-embroidered flags of the highest quality, ensuring that your emblem will last a long time.
Parade flags
Parade flags allow your company, association, municipality, etc., to stand out at events. This banner is also a rallying symbol. Only plain or damask silk, which offers greater resistance, is used to make parade flags.
Parade flags are made using two completely different techniques:
Single-sided or "stained glass": a technique that appeared in the early 1950s, it allows a flag to be made from a single piece of fabric. The stained glass technique is used for flags with a simple design, or with very little embroidery, and whose reverse side does not suffer from the mirror effect. This type of flag is lighter and will fly in the slightest breeze.
Double-sided: until the late 1940s, all flags were made using this technique. The double-sided technique is used for flags with different designs on each side, or if the lettering is placed randomly. This method allows for two different themes, for example, one side representing the company and the other the region of origin. In general, a double-sided flag features much more sophisticated embroidery.
All our parade flags and accessories are guaranteed for 5 years under normal use.
Our expertise, gained from over 35 years of experience in flag making, is at your disposal to create your masterpiece.
You can provide us with a design, or we can create one for you. We will then make your flag in the size of your choice using top-quality fabric (pure damask or plain silk, satin, Dralon, etc.).
If necessary, we can also renovate your flags: washing, repair, complete restoration, etc.
Flags to be hoisted
The flag to be hoisted flies at the top of a pole and represents you at all times. It can be seen from afar and allows your visitors to find their way. This flag features your emblem, coat of arms, logo, or even your crest.
It is made of durable Dralon fabric, with printed and/or embroidered designs, triple stitching around the edges, and a reinforced band to support the carabiners. The flag to be hoisted is made using the stained glass technique (single-sided) and there are no limitations on the type of design.
Our flags are extremely durable, easy to maintain, and the removable carabiners allow for machine washing at 30 degrees.
