  What makes a natural garden:

• Native plant selection; native wild plants grow and flower in the natural garden.
• Gravel areas for squares & paths; provide space for dry plants and these are food sources for wild bees and insects.
• Closed loops; rainwater is collected for reuse or can seep into the ground
• No need for pesticides; a balance of pests & beneficial insects develops in the natural garden. The use of pesticides is usually unnecessary

• Dry stone walls; with their open joints, they provide shelter for many creatures.
• Element of water; should adorn a natural garden. The habitats of animals and wild plants can be expanded with ponds, fountains or streams.
