Christen Automobile AG was founded in 1998 as a family business by Carmen and Hubert Christen. They were the first in Switzerland to exclusively exhibit and sell the Audi brand. With their tremendous, tireless commitment, Carmen and Hubert Christen have contributed significantly to Audi's success in Switzerland. The couple started out on their own; they now employ over 45 people and train apprentices. In fall 2014, Christen Automobile AG opened a VW garage at Umfahrungsstrasse 27, where it sells VW commercial vehicles as well as VW passenger cars. Eight years later, in spring 2022, an extension was added to the VW building to expand the reconditioning, spare parts, and tire storage areas, with a new staff lounge.

 

Focus on the customer

The company, which is certified to the ISO 9001 quality standard, strives for continuous improvement of its internal procedures and processes. The customer is always the focus. The personal relationship with customers and the appreciation they show are the most important cornerstone and the greatest driving force behind the family business. With the wide range of Audi, VW, and VW commercial vehicles, a brand-independent used car market, and Europcar car rental, important development goals have already been achieved. Further plans for a customer-oriented range of services will follow.

 

Attractive employer

The company makes a valuable contribution to the economy of Uri and thus to the future of Uri. Apprenticeships enable young people from Uri to complete their training in the canton of Uri. The company also offers qualified workers the opportunity to practice their profession with a range of further training opportunities in Uri. The wide range of brands enriches the overall brand offering in Uri, meaning that a large part of the added value is generated within the canton itself. Christen Automobile AG also supports numerous clubs and organizations in the form of sponsorship and financial contributions.
