The family, the farm, and the history
The Tschudin family has been farming the Feldhof on lease since 1981. In 1988, the then owner gave up the farm to emigrate to France. What to do? It was not possible for the young family to buy the farm, which meant that not only this healthy piece of land but also the popular market stall in St. Gallen was at risk.
A group of customers and representatives of the biodynamic movement decided to form a cooperative, raise money, and buy the Feldhof farm. The idea was very well received. It worked! The Feldhof farm was taken over by the cooperative. The Feldhof cooperative has been a success over the last 30 years. A farm building with a vegetable store and a new barn were built. Land was also leased from the neighborhood. In 2008, the Tschudin-Rascher family moved to the Feldhof, and now two generations work on the farm with joy and energy, together with their employees, apprentices, and interns.
