Zaugg Emballeur AG was founded on January 1, 1977 by Werner Zaugg. The site of the recently closed gasworks in Schlieren proved to be the ideal location for storing and packing large, bulky goods.

In 1985, Zaugg Emballeur AG expanded. It bought the property it used itself and other properties from the city of Zurich on building rights. The generous amount of space now allowed the management to expand the storage facilities for goods and set up the "Facility Management" department.

Zaugg Emballeur AG reached another milestone in 1991, when it founded the Biel branch based in Brügg on July 1. The company moved to Biel in 1996 and relocated within Biel once again in 2011. At the same time, the Biel branch was given the new name Werk Biel.

In 1998, the second generation took over the family business. Son Michael Zaugg took over as Managing Director, while Werner Zaugg remains Chairman of the Board of Directors.
