Description
The theater is a place of new beginnings. We give the players space to try out new things using their bodies and language, emotions and imagination. We encourage them to trust in their personal strengths and not to see weaknesses as obstacles. We treat all players and course participants with openness and are interested in the shared experience. We practice and learn through play and as a team, because - there is nothing more serious than play.
The children and young people get to know the world of theater in an age-appropriate way. Part of our concept is that they choose and develop their roles themselves. They speak improvising, even without a text. Self-confidence, social skills and team spirit are actively encouraged through theater games.
Who we are
The Atelier Kunterbunt sees itself as a workshop for theater, music and art. For over 20 years, we have been working with children and adults in a wide range of courses using a theater pedagogical approach. What once began as a one-woman business is now a multi-faceted operation. In addition to the theater school and courses, we pass on our experience of working with children and young people to teachers in practice-oriented training courses.
We created the professional environment for our theater projects in 2011 with the small theater Teatro Dalla Piazza in Dielsdorf. It serves as a rehearsal and performance venue for our own productions and guest performances. The location in Schneisingen is a rehearsal and course room.
The Förderverein Kinder- und Jugendtheater Kunterbunt is the employer for the course leaders and tenants of the rehearsal and performance rooms. It is financed without public funding, through course and ticket income, membership fees, sponsorship and private donations. The association aims to promote youth work, organizes theater productions and creates structures so that children and young people can play theater.
The Atelier Kunterbunt is a member of the industry association t. Theaterschaffen Schweiz.
Storytelling theater from Teatro Dalla Piazza
As a family business with a professional background in theater and art, we present self-developed stories for young and old at schools and small theaters. Mirca Dalla Piazza Popp, Raffaella Popp and Valeria Popp as actors are supported by Hans Peter Popp as sound and lighting technician
