HEMU - Haute Ecole de Musique - Valais - Wallis

The HEMU – Haute École de Musique ( University of Music) is an educational institution renowned for its elite, demanding, and comprehensive training, as well as for its close ties with the professional world and its commitment to musical life. Multidisciplinary and multi-style, it covers all areas of training in classical music, jazz, and contemporary music.

Located in the heart of Europe and French-speaking Switzerland, where it welcomes more than 500 students of 39 different nationalities, the HEMU offers university-level education. Valuing both theory and practice, its Bachelor's and Master's degree programs are designed to ensure immediate access to the professional world. Its teaching staff, composed of many internationally renowned artists, guarantees its students a high level of supervision.

Since 2009, the HEMU has been part of the "Music and Performing Arts" department of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO), the largest network of higher professional education in Switzerland with 19,400 students.
