Dr. Phil Kaeser grew up in Grenchen and attended the cantonal school in Solothurn. After studying medicine in Basel, he completed his specialist training at Inselspital Bern and at the Pallas Clinic in Olten. He then spent several years as a senior physician and site manager in Olten and Grenchen, specializing in ophthalmic surgery.

Where possible, we also treat emergencies during consultation hours without an appointment.

Outside of opening hours, the emergency service is coordinated by the Bürgerspital Solothurn hospital on 032 627 31 21.

General ophthalmological examination and treatment

General preventive and check-up examinations for adults and children. We cover almost the entire spectrum of conservative ophthalmology (diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye).

Preventive examinations from age 40

Regular check-ups are essential for maintaining vision and quality of life. Early detection of insidious diseases can optimize the course of the disease and prevent serious problems.

Early detection is particularly important for the progression of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and diabetic retinal changes.

Diagnosis and surgery for cataracts

The complete preliminary examination and aftercare are offered on site. Individual consultation and responding to patients' wishes are very important to us.

Cataract surgery is performed personally by Dr. Phil Kaeser at the Hirslanden Klinik Linde in collaboration with an experienced, well-coordinated team.

Post-operative treatment (YAG laser capsulotomy) is performed at the practice in Solothurn.

Diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma

The services offered cover the entire spectrum of glaucoma diagnostics and conservative glaucoma therapy.

Preventive measures for angle-closure glaucoma using YAG laser (iridotomy) are performed at the practice.

Diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases

For early detection and follow-up examinations, we are at your side in our practice with fundus photography and modern diagnostics using OCT (optical coherence tomography).

Age-related macular degeneration

Follow-up examinations for AMD are carried out in full on site.

Intravitreal injections (IVT, injection therapy) are performed personally by Dr. Phil Kaeser at the Hirslanden Klinik Linde in collaboration with an experienced, well-coordinated team.

Orthoptics / Vision training

Since May 2020, we have been offering orthoptic assessments for children and adolescents.

The vision training program examines and diagnoses strabismus, eye movement disorders, and visual impairments. It also checks the coordination of the eyes and spatial vision. In children in particular, visual acuity is determined and, if necessary, corrective eyewear is prescribed and/or amblyopia is treated.
