Carriage rides - the feeling of days gone by
Tours in historic carriages
In summer and winter, Danco offers numerous guests in the Engadin tours in historic carriages through the beautiful region
For two generations, the Motti family has been accompanying tourists on atmospheric rides around St. Moritz. Elegant horses are harnessed to the beautiful historic carriages.
Carriage ride in the snowTake a seat in a historic carriage and let our magnificent horses take you through the glorious Engadin winter landscape. A soft blanket of snow muffles every sound, the horses move at a rhythmic gait: immerse yourself in a world of bygone times and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In winter, the horses wear a special harness made in Graubünden; the carriages are fitted with soft, white furs to ensure you have a comfortable ride.
Carriage ride in summer
In the summer months, we replace the warming furs in our carriages with beautiful blankets. Now the journey takes us through blooming landscapes and fragrant forests.
The carriage is a great way to discover magical places that you couldn't reach by car. This makes our carriage rides particularly popular.
Wedding rides
You can also book our carriages for special occasions. Wedding couples in particular like to take advantage of this offer.
We use a particularly beautiful and comfortable carriage for weddings. It dates back to 1900, was already in a Basel museum and has been carefully restored.
For the wedding rides we decorate our horses with white English harness and special bells. These very old bells were once used in Paris and have a very special, harmonious sound.A look at past times and traditions
Thanks to Danco's passion for historic carriages, a unique museum with many traditional carriages and tools from the 19th century has been created over the years. All the beautiful sleighs that Danco can no longer use are also on display here, as well as an interesting collection of tools that tell the story of Engadin farmers. Numerous old photos complete the exhibition. They are both historical sources and personal memories.
"This project is really important to me because I want to show future generations how people used to live and work. People need to know their roots in order to understand how things work today."Danco
